On these pages, we would like to invite you on a journey through time along the Castle Road. Our holiday route will take you to well-fortified, massive castles, enchanted castle ruins, magnificent palaces and picturesque, half-timbered houses. Everywhere a bit of the past has stayed alive, and numerous museums and events tell of the ups and downs of such former times.

The Castle Road expects art enthusiast also in 2012 a huge number of art-historical highlights.

1,000 years of Bamberger cathedral (1012-2012)
As a big celebration of stone the imperial cathedral about the historical Old Town of Bamberg rises. Exactly 1000 years after the inauguration of the first cathedral in 1012 the archbishopric of Bamberg celebrates the jubilee in 2012 with numerous events.
